This was our final, and one of our toughest days in the lake district, as we climbed to our highest point - 2800 feet. Even though our fitness levels have increased dramatically, we climbed to 2800 feet and then had to descend the other side.

Getting ready for the off nice and early this morning.
As we climbed out of Patterdale, we looked back over Ullswater and the steamer boats.

Which way is it? The boys said left. The girls said right. Time to ask the two rather dashing gentleman heading our way! Guess the girls were right again!

The Roman road over High Street. This is where we took a left and carried on up....... towards Kidsty Pike.
We finally reached the top. Which way now? Down I hope!
Hawes Water from Kidsty Pike. We have to get down there now - somehow! Anyone got a parachute!

Finally made the long climb down. Now the three miles round the water to "Sherpa Maj". This was the longest 3 miles of the day and thankfully, we were picked up at the end of the lake - others had to walk on to the nearest village.
